Just because your the type of fella who apparently feels that if he's not personally aware of another fellas accomplishments or contributions,that they simply cannot possibly be valid yet,well sorry but that's just not a very realistic way to view the world if you ask me.

If you honestly wanted to know more about Pete M. and were not intent on starting $#!t with the members of the forum here,why the hell did you not post a new thread here and ask us that question outright,instead of digging this thread up and coming off like a bull in a china shop with your comments and attitude.

You came here to start $#!t by being the one to take this thread off topic to begin with,and you continue to stir the $#!t with your continued contributions to taking this thread off topic,and likely you'll end up getting this thread locked in the end with this sorta dreck.

This thread was'nt about Pete McCarthy at all,this thread was about a specific engine build he had published in a magazine a while back,the discussion in this thread was about that article,and other various articles he had written on pontiac engine builds.

This thread was NOT about the man himself,nor his personal worth to the pontiac hobby,or his personal accomplishments.

You my fellow member are the one who's been off topic with your personal issue(s) regarding Pete M. here,what they are based off of I cant fathom,I dont worship the guy myself either,I dont worship anybody in this deal really,they're all just car guys doing their own thing,maybe they share some info with others,maybe they dont,no big deal to me either way IMO.

But I also recognize that the books (plural=2 books) I have of his are among the more useful books I own about pontiacs.

You seem to think some guys are straight shooters just because they take a little time to bend your ear and tell you a thing or two,well often that's exactly why those guys do that when folks let them,they do so to gain your trust without really earning it,not with their actions nor thru their reputation amongst others.

That's where the con in con-man comes from,confidence,a con-man has to exude it to gain it from others,once he gains the marks confidence,he can pretty much convince the mark of almost anything,that is one of the oldest tricks in the book.
