understand where you're coming from goat 64, but at the same time that reply to me was posted because of the fact that both the VIN and cowl tags were stated to be off the car and the car gone. all the information in that message was basically available from the original e-bay listing, including the VIN. to whom to those tags belong? the scrap yard that got the car body. no questions about it in my book. there is a very high likelihood that within 1-2 years this car might resurface as a complete numbers matching SD, which would be fraud unless the seller or new owner discloses the fact that it is a vin-tag swapped car if they ever decide to sell. There is nothing private about a vin.
