Well, I finally got to do a little something to the car today. I rebuilt the rear brakes. I know that doesn't sound like much to many of you, but, to me it was a good 4 hour job. That's because the rear brake hardware was in a pile in the corner of my shop. I cleaned all the parts. Then I wire wheeled them, except for the color coded pieces. Finally, I reassembled them with new shoes. I am just thankful that I was smart enough to take several pictures from different angles before I took everything apart. It really helped putting them back together.
And, I may have some good news to report. I had to go out of town yesterday and while I was gone a buddy called me on my cell to tell me that he had found a 67 GTO convertible parts car. He was breaking up a little bit but I swore he said the car could be bought for $500! I will find out tomorrow morning.
Also, My body man said as soon as I got the panels for the car he was ready for me to bring it to him.
So, if the parts car works out I may start making some good headway soon.
Anyway, here are the updated totals:
Labor is now 145 hours= $2900
Parts = $4103.87
Total= $7003.87
