But why 6 cyl. when the 400 was an option? Way too much $$ to do the conversion from 6 to 8. You still had to worry about emissions tests then or they had to pass the test. Kinda like the T-37. No way would I have bought the 6 cyl and then have it converted. No warrenty and quickly no rear end. Had to by the engine, 4 speed, clutch/pressure plate, probably the rear end replace and still pass state emissions tests. No way GM would have let them have a warrenty.
