[QUOTE=PONTIAC DUDE][b]HWYSTR455: I doubt you put 220K on a set of solid roller springs and make any power. I doubt you put 30k on a set.[QUOTE]

Swear I did Dude, have records/receipts to prove it, now as for power, honestly, I don't remember, this was like 87 - 91, but can say the entire time it ran very well on the street, many in the area to this day talk about it. I even dug up the cam card, though couldn't find the spring info. I'm sure it was 'matching' springs, and the best available at the time. I spared no expense on that particular engine/build.

The engine was based on a 70 455 4-bolt block, 30 over, ported #62 heads, Crower custom forged rods, custom pistons, and was professionally built by an engine builder who specialized in building engines for racing P-51s through pylons. It was a fairly mild roller, 224/232 @50, .350 lobe lift, on a 112, which may have been the reason it lasted so long (using lower pressure springs). He may have changed the springs at 120k, but I don't think so. I let him handle the machine work, since A) he used the aviation machinsts that had high-dollar equip, and B) he was a Pontiac nut.

I ran two other roller engines after that, and both went over 100k miles, and I know on those I didn't change the springs. Those did show a drop in performance over about 80k miles though, that I recall. I was getting over 110k miles out of the hyd flat tappet engines at the time too, all under severe abuse (old habits die hard!).
