I have seen solid roller lifters fail also, so that deal doesn't wash. Had one go right thru the valley under the bore in a BBC. Nice round hole. Junk the block. Lot of racers making power have solid lifter issues all the time.
So if a solid lifter fails with ya, then what? Oh Oh I know. O.H.C.
