The adjustable links are made for factory 4 link cars because the pinion angle will change when the ride height is altered from stock. Raising or lowering an a-body will alter the pinion angle and cause the rear u-joint working angle to not match the front u-joint working angle. By having adjustable upper control arms the pinion angle can be adjusted to eliminate driveline vibrations.

Once again, this has nothing to do with making a car have more or less traction.
