I was going to try an extreme airfilter lid also but now I'm going to save my money!

What I did was build a stretched hood scoop and it worked out pretty good.

When I swapped to an edelbrock performer intake the scoop sat a little lower than I wanted it to plus I wanted more air than just the K&N filter. I think the narrow
opening between the lid and base must work with extra air velocity like a cylinder head because mine ran worse with different combinations of aftermarket scoop/base mods.

I also hooked up all the intake duct work that goes behind the headlight, It must work
well because I always have leaves & bugs in my shaker. I have a screen over the scoop opening but not on the ductwork yet.

I made a mold off of a swap meet scoop & built a copy of a factory scoop.
Then stretched cut it apart and spaced the top up about 1" and narrowed the
top about 1" and gained about 12 square inches at the back of the opening.
Kinda like reverse chopping the top on a hot rod.
It looks stock as the proportions came out pretty good.
