John V, good to here from you again. Yes, the "0" line may be the firewall, but 3 inches seems kind of short to me. I work in automotive design, and where I work, the 0X plane would be close to the front axle center, but that's obviously not the case here. No idea really. Hopefully someone can measure the hole location on an original fender. I'm not in any hurry, the body hasn't even been started yet, so I'll try to keep this post alive until we find the answer. The mirror I bought appears to be the dealer installed accessory mirror. It came NOS in the box with all the hardware to mount it with those instructions. Lucky find. I thought it would be good to post the drawing for others to reference.
