Guy I went to see then (new years day 1986 I think) was in Savannah, only had ONE TA, but also had a nice 350 convert, Carousel/Parchment/White. I passed on the TA which was an AC 4-speed car with no engine, idiot lights & blue std interior. Price was $3500; I wanted a Custom trim gauge car then. Hood was wrinkled at the tip and he claimed the car had been running a Ram Air V. Don't even recall if he ran the car with the RAV or a previous owner had done so.
I did see an auto/AC car with idiot lights & std interior in southern new Jersey but we were not collecting VINs back then. I stopped to see it while driving to NY for Christmas one year, also mid 80s. Can't recall the guy's name.
The guy in Georgia you may be thinking of was a guy in Atlanta area who had three clone TA convertibles for sale in Hemmings around the mid-80s, one of which was the car built here in Orlando, Don Miller's car previously (which was a 40-B car with black std interior, but a real 400 car supposedly, maybe even a 400HO car). Never hooked up with him.
