Electrolux bought out Whirlpool, Hoover and even an excellent company called "Zanker" :

who's products' quality were comparable to Miele products. Both German machines used to have stainless steel doors. Since, Electrolux bought them out, seems like stainless steel got rationalized out.
I've never heard of a case where a company ever benefitted from an Electrolux buy-out
