Quite agree with your statement that the ".... alum rocker is adequate for 90% of the applications out there". What we all want to know is: will the 10% that fail be in my engine when they fail!
For a few bucks more, & peace of mind, I'd rather use steel or s/steel & be covered 100%.
Alum conrods? Know plenty of people with 100,000+ miles on steel rods, don't know of any with alum rods.
