Strangely the picture showing them on the stud of the water neck is completely correct - Look at some original cars - It is also pictured in the assembly manual and in clear view in the R/T - SS - M/T - Hot Rod road test articlefor 69 - where they tested all the pontiacs and took pictures of all the engines - look on the Judge page - clear view of the engine and water neck - and guess what - slot nut
They were also used on the power steering adjustment studs - the manifold heat shield studs and under the valve covers to hold the shield to the head bolt stud. They are often missing because most never knew where they went after they took them off.
But if you don't like them or don't agree you do not have to buy them.
