1) Race guys don't care about offset (or piston slap noise as the car's exhaust and valvetrain is usually louder. LOL!

2) OEM manufacturers have different opinions on how much offset is needed vs the specs on the bottom end of the engine vs NVH allowed
(Noise, Vibration, Harshness).
