I would suggest that's EXACTLY what happened & somebody was mis-informed along the way.
A copy of the PHS would tell the story for sure on that.
Personally,I'm not sure that black really suits these 70-73 birds.
I think that they need a lighter/brighter color to showcase those fantastic body lines.
The darker colors almost shrink the car & hide the shape.
Maybe that's WHY it wasn't offered? JMO
