I have used a stock tray many times on aftermarket (Pro-gram) caps & studs.
As long as you have holes drilled & tapped in the caps and no shims are nessary.
Try bolting it down and rotate the assembly and look for anything that may contact.
Also, you may have to bend the lower tube slightly.
Some aftermarket units that are stock replacement are a good idea as the factory units are thin and in some cases have fractured and broke while in service.
