Mine began in 1964 when going down La Brea to pick up the girlfriend in North Hollywood. White GTO pulls up along side my 63 Impala SS 327 and the four guys inside the GTO start egging me on. It sure wasn't a race - more like a massacre with the GTO gassing ahead and falling back to me over and over with the guys in the goat having a great old time. The fever had started and it took 3 years before I was able to factory order my 67 GTO. I will never forget pulling out of the dealership the night I took delivery and the glow of the dash lights as I headed out into the night. Since, I've had cars with LED displays, floating displays, and digital displays - and none of them compare to the feeling I still get driving at night in the goat.
