Typically it seems the new performance cars mentioned in the lead post all have big wide tires with a soft compound right from the factory. This might not compare to many Pontiac street cars with smaller tires due to the room available in the wheel wells.
I have to agree on the Nitto drag radials not being in the same league as the other DOT drag radials. I use them as a street tire on my Trans Am since they are capable of getting decent milage compared to the others. With a previous 462 street combo I drove to the track and lowered the air pressure on the Nittos and ran 11.02, then put 28 lbs back into them and drove home.
