I'm overhauling a 350 right now- running ported no.48's, Holley 750 vac. sec., e-performer, Crane 272H cam, new lifters, pushrods, oil pump, ARP rod bolts. I've used this cam before on 350's with 8.6-10:1 CR- it's a good overall performer (272/272 adv. dur., 216/216 dur @.050, 110LSA). This motor is going into my 'Bird to substitute for the 406 in there now, which is coming out for upgrades.

My 'Bird already has a 3.08 posi, Hooker comps and 2 1/2" duals, and the no.48's came off of my 406. I have a Crane 284H in this motor, compression was 205-210 and the motor still runs on pump gas- ran a 13.04 @104 in street trim. I'm thinking with the same heads and induction the 350 should run mid-high 13's.

You'll need to upgrade to an adjustable valvetrain for any aftermarket cam, since the valve lash will be different with the higher lift. Go with straight 7/16" screw in studs to keep the press-in bottleneck studs from pulling out- if you're lucky your head will be machined for them (high performance heads have screw in studs stock). I'd also go for the full roller rockers, as the comp cams roller tip version doesn't do much for the money. You can get aluminum 1.5 and 1.65 roller rockers from Pacific Performance Racing ($195)- not a bad deal there. I'd also go with the graphite rope seal instead (PPR, $20)- as the neoprenes will leak if the seal channel isn't perfect.
