File this away in the FWIW file. I still have the timeslips from a couple of passes in my 71 TA, circa 1980, at Milan Dragway. Car description: 71 455 HO TA Automatic, no air, not many options, GR60x15 Radial TAs, stock exhaust, motor as built by PMD, but wait for it...2.41:1 axle! When I bought the car the axle bearings were wiped, so I picked up a junkyard 2.41 posi from a '75 TA.
Driver description: snot-nosed 19 year old that was no master at launch technique (although with a 2.41 axle it was pretty much stab and steer).
Best ET 14.66 @100! It went through the lights at 5000 rpm in 2nd gear.
Around the same time I had a buddy with a 74 SD Auto 3.08 car. We ran a couple times on the freeway from a 25 mph roll up to about 100 and they were basically dead even. His car was a little heavier with a/c and heavy bumpers, but also had the axle advantage. We both called it a draw.
