I ran a tomahawk and 850 mighty demon on lesser of a combo(300cfm edel,hyd 250-256 cam) and ran 11.4's.
You can fit a shaker with that combo.

I did pick up going to a victor,fastest was 10.90's at 123mph.
Had to make my own custom shaker baseplate along with a drop base air cleaner bottom to get it to fit.

I now have a 4500 victor and 1050 king demon with the wideport edel heads and am gonna make another custom shaker base plate,dude scoop to try and fit it.It should work.

If i were you,i would go victor and a 850 demon or you might pick up with a king demon.The hp holley 1000 carbs are just glorified 850cfm carbs.
I had no issues with my demons,like them better then holleys.I did switch the king demon from a 3 circuit carb to a 2 circuit carb because of streetablilty and it was leaning out up top but holleys have the same issues.
You wont fit a 1" spacer though with this combo and a shaker.
