Well, as you may have read in another post, I finally got the motor cranked this week. Anybody doing a rebuild themselves take heed to this bit of info; find TDC first, then install the distributor so the rotor points toward the steering wheel. I spent four hours and about $50.00 on ignition parts trying to get my cat started before I decided to. When I did, I found the rotor was 180 out. I pulled the distributor, turned it around and the car fired right up.
I had two water leaks, one at the sending unit and the other at the heater core inlet. Tightened the sending unit to fix that one and replaced the tower clamp on the heater core hose to stop that one. I also had a small gas leak at the fuel pump to carb fitting. Again, a little turn of the wrench and that one was fixed. The only other leak I found was a transmission cooling line fitting and all I had to do was tighten it. I reckon I need to eat my Wheaties before working on the car.
