Around here, it's pretty hard to find any pickup that runs well that's not a total basket
case for that kind of money (and that includes dealer auctions)
Your fuel economy although good, is right in the neighborhood for most newer diesel trucks.

I've got one out in a box truck that pulls 18 mpg consistantly with an auto overdrive trans. It's got well over 200k on it, the truck is worn out but the 7.3 runs like a charm still, no oil usage and never a major issue with it.

Glow plugs will be a yeary thing in cold climates but outside of that they're a great engine.
