This '66 Tempest Custom is a CA Black Plate car with all the original sheet metal and even the Protecto Plate. Fried Balony stripped it to bare metal and repainted it. He also switched it to buckets and I add the H&H shifter. The interior is blue and is in near new condition. It has an Alpine CD player with 4 speakers and a Kenwood amp. The factory A/C is beltless right now due to the front seal slinging oil. I have a reman compressor in the box with a correct decal.
The floors, trunk, etc are very nice and he even cleaned and painted the frame and floors. The engine has less that 500 mls on it and it is a 408 with Speed Pro forged pistons, milled for a 9.4 CR and stock internals. The cam is a Crower 60241 - 215/221 .458 int 464 exh lift. It has HS 1.5 Roller Rockers with a Performer int and # 62 heads. The intake is gasket matched and the heads have been cleaned up a little. The valves are new SS valves and the guides were replaced. No corners were cut. The HEI is new as well as the balancer.
The trans is a T400 with stock converter and a 3.23 LS in the rear. These have been rebuilt within the last 5K.
This car runs, drives and looks excellent. There are a couple of spots on the body but they have been there since I got it nearly 3 yrs ago. I can take pics of anything you want to see. It even won 1st place at Norwalk in 2007 in the Street 2 Class as well as a 1st place at the Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge Show 2007. Not bad for a "driver". I take care of my stuff and it will be evident when you see the car in person.
I'm surious about selling to find something comparable with a manual trans. Feel free to call me with any questions and I will answer honestly - nothing to hide on this car! Besides, it is much rarer and cheaper than a '66 GTO of the same condition.
Pics added. These were taken July 26th 2009. Here is a link to photobucket as well that were taken in the spring :
