That doesn't account for the 8.5" rear end, suspension and brakes or wheels and tires that I decided to add midstream in the project.

These projects tend to snowball on you sometimes. Doing it once and doing it right does cost you, but it also saves you from spending more doing it over when you're not really satisfied with the first outcome.
