Steve, this 66 GTO was advertised For sale in, I think National Dragster or Hot Rod, back in the late sixtes/ early 70's by Dick Stokes, in the ad, he claims the car is the former Don Gay Funny, i'm sure the extended front end was added after Don Sold the car. a friend of mine was trying to find the Don Gay Car a few years back, this piece of info turned up during research. trail went cold after Dick Stokes owned it, when Mike found the 66 Grey Ghost Funny car that was at Norwalk this year, he thought at first glance that it might be the Gay car, being located in Illinois,(Gay Cars last known state of residense) but upon seeing it was all fiberglass he knew it wasn't the case.
