I am putting finishing touches on a decent driver that was originally an automatic in rough shape that got rescued. Its a fun RAIII 4 speed now. As you can guess, the 40 plus years of get er done on the harnesses leads to some confusion.
The good news has been coming in little by little,
like I got an 8 track in wired and playing,
dome light working, glove box light working, vacuum hose controls working good for the heater box, etc.
Some stuff I think is great news is a new resistor getting my blower working, and finding the misrouted line I in line amped to the alternator and now have the blower on high also.
A little bad news comes along, I have a live wire I don't now what does, maybe the lighter, have the wrong AM radio that does not work, have not even started on my back up light, etc.
What I can use help on is the ?What the Hell?!! news.
I assume there was a problem with the horn like it was always on or the pressure ground in the steering wheel broke or something.
I went to get the horn working, and my relay looks like this. (the upper right ground to the bolt is for something else)
Ok, I should have black going forward, and I thought green coming back to the firewall by my diagram. It looks like both the black and green go forward.
The black from the single connection does go back to the fire wall.
What do I need to have hooked up to the last post? I cannot find anything on the engine side of the fire wall for it. A black with pink stripe is listed in the diagram, but the only one I see close is going to the hood tach.
When I look on the passenger side of the fire wall, I find some stuff I was not expecting.
What is going on here. Why the purple to purple direct connection on it self with the blue clips? Why is that pink clipped into the yellow, and where is that orange supposed to be going. neither the orange or the gray have power when checked.
What the hell should I be doing with this. It comes off the harness before it goes up over the gauge cluster, and has that orange connector. But what should it be for?
See that serious gauge orange coming from the main cluster at the fire wall (behind/between the headlight switch vacuum hoses?
It ends in this. What the heck should I be doing with it?
If you can tell me what I can try to hook to the emply connection on the horn relay,
or what the heck those big connectors are for, what the clipped wires might go to,
please let me know. I appreciate all the help I have gotten with stuff here.

I am driving in the rain, at night, running errands, with the kids who are eating and having ice cream in the back, after going to the drag strip, burning rubber, and blowing donuts. Do you really think it's numbers matching all original?"
