I would have all of the big ends checked by the machine shop to make sure that they are all the same size. Then, have the crank checked to make sure that there is consistency. My guess is that it was too tight - borderline. The bearings did not look rough and the picture of the crank looks nice and clean. Should clean up well with some new bearings.
