The Goat reference...



Slang for "Indian" is Injun, Redskin, etc. Some people are sensitive to this, but Pontiac (the brand, and the city) were named after Chief Pontiac. Of course, EVERYTHING offends EVERYONE nowadays, so yes, I guess "Injun" would be considered inappropriate now. I sometimes wonder if guys with pre-1960's Pontiacs ever have a nasty comment made to them about a Pontiac head hood ornament, or some other emblem on their car that shows the Indian head.



Along with this old Pontiac logo, the Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves, Washington Redskins, Kansas City Chiefs, and a whole host of other names are now considered "politically incorrect".
