I think most fullsize tailgates are conservatively rated at 500lbs in the center. If you are careful, you'll never have the full 750 on the gate itself, it will be distributed to the ramp and bed itself as well. Just be careful where you're standing as that could be the extra weight that makes the difference.

You could always remove the tailgate and load directly into the bed if it will fit and the angles work. That's what I do but I've got sportbikes, light and short.
