The factory cable you're using is designed for use with a factory intake and carb. Your aftermarket intake locates the throttle cable bracket too far away from the carb mounting pad......for the cable to reach.

You can order the Edelbrock P/N 8015 adapter for your manifold if you like, or else maybe you have enough room to slot the bracket mounting holes so you can slide the bracket forward some....
