There were 3 360 HP engines in 68. First is the HO which had an 068 cam with HO exhaust manifolds. The Ram Air I had a hotter cam still and HO manfolds along with the open hood scoops. About March the Ram Air II came out with the first round port Pontiac heads. It had even a hotter cam with round port manifolds and open hood scoops. Standard rears for the Ram Air cars were .390 or .433 no AC so your docs car was probably a HO car.
I used to race an HO automatic car back in the day with my 350 HP 3 speed car and stay even with him till I hit 3rd and he hit drive. He'd put about 2 car lenghts on me by the finish line.
