I finally worked on adjusting the window line on my car over the weekend. I backed the front set screws all the way out so that they would not limit travel at the front arm joints. Then loosened the bolts at the back and set the position at the serations to give the front more bow. It was actually pretty easy- you can even get to the bolts in the back without having to remove the seat or door panels. Results are mixed- much improved but not perfect. The window line on the passengers side is actually pretty good now. But the drivers side is still not quite right.

There has always been a "gap" at the front that needs to be pulled in to get the latch hooks to engage, even with the hooks adjusted way out. It was a real pita without the cylinders working. I removed the pin a long time ago because it was almost impossible to get it lined up. Now I can use the hydraulics to push the top forward enough to latch, but doing this drives the back arms down and puts a lot of stress on the front actuating arms.

It looks like the front bow mounts are slotted so that the header bow can be moved forward/backward where it attaches to the frame at the lever mounts, but I didn't try to pull this apart. I don't know how the vinyl is attached to the front bow and side frames up there. Is is possible to adjust the header bow forward with the top on the car, or do I just need to live with it until I eventually get a new top installed?
