If the previous owner had a full twelve volts running to the points then it is a good possibility that the points are fried, and may have damaged the condenser also. Also if the previous owner had two fours mounted you may want to get ahold of him again and get the specs on the cam Also check the dwell angle on the points, should be right at 30 degrees.
