A few more items that might be considered in the package for value would be; the pinion yoke, axles, and brakes. Further, if the axle is assembled there would be the cost of axle bearings, carrier bearings, and pinion bearings, as well as misc. hardware. Also if the assembly was done correctly there would be some value for time and specialized tool usage considered in the total value of such a rear.
I suggest shopping online for comparable rear axles for sale. Places to look might be e-bay or other rear axle builders and remanufacturers
The ZH code according to the restoration guide would be 3:55 safe-t-track with metallic brakes. The 3:55 rear would have been standard usage with four speed, optional with other drive trains. The HD Safety Track was an option in that rear as well. I have found that rear used in GTO’s with standard 400 engine, as well as 350 cu in. Lemans.
