Pretty big cam for a stock converter and those gears, but IMHO, it would be fine otherwise. I would upgrade the converter to our Continental 13" unit. You will never know it's there till you need it. We've sold them to folks with full size cars and gear ratios as low as 2.56. It will drive just like a stock converter, but allow the engine to rev into it's good power range on heavy/full throttle starts.
When you get in a grudge match with a fart-piped Neon or Import, you will really be glad you did the upgrade!.......Cliff
