You could also run 12-1 as GM, Mopar and Ford had a few of those out there running on Pump gas. Octane was 100 and 101 back then. Plus LEAD. Lead makes a big difference. The octane today of 93 is 89 and bumped to 93 with the crap ethanol. Not the same as gas.............. back in the day.
