Yeah, but we did have Chevron 102 in SoCal. I remember it being like 4 cents more per gallon than Shell in the early 60's, which was a horrible increase when Shell premium was 28 cents a gallon.
...and I think that the old 100 octane would test out very close to 96 R+M/2
edit: at least I thought it was 102 and not 101. anyone remember?
