When these cars were made, some of the body panels WERE gaped large. Well I intentionally gaped the doors to fenders wide because I dont want to kiss the paint when I hammer the gas peddle.

and the opposite is true as well.

Our '65 GTO is so tight between the RF fender and passenger door that it keeps the paint worn off on the fender. Been that way since new.

And - speaking of twist - the car twisted enough upon launch that it popped the windshield out on one occasion. Fortunately, it was not broken and we were able to reinstall it there at the track.
