About four months after my son was born, we went to Las Vegas where my parents lived so they could see him for the first time. Upon first sight, my son and my mom made one of those instant connections. The entire four days, the second my mom walked into the room, Jonathan would want her to come pay attention to him or something. Kind of hard to explain. Unfortunately it ended up being the only time they would spend together because a few months later my mom passed away from a sudden heart attack. We left my son with her parents while we rushed out to Vegas that night to be with my dad, etc.

Fast forward about two years and the three of us are going through some photos we found buried in a box and came across a picture of my mom, all by herself in the picture. Instantly my son exclaims “There’s Grandma! Daddy’s mommy!” Betty and I both stared at each other in disbelief. I asked him how he knew that and he just stared at the picture without an answer. I started to ask again and my wife stopped me. She just wanted to leave it alone.

I have had a similar experience. My son has never met my mother she died 4 years before he was born. One day when he was about 4 we were hanging pictures in his room of all his family. My wife and I , his aunts and uncles and his grandparents. When we hung the picture of my parents my son looked at it and said I know that lady standing with Grandpap , shes the lady who looks in my window at night. His room is on the third floor with no access without a ladder .

Also there are stories about my home in the neighborhood that arent real good. Supposedly in the past my house has been home to drug dealers , pedophiles , and a rapist........ wish I would have known all this BEFORE I signed the mortgage. The grown daughter of one of my neighbors wont even associate with my family just because we live in the house that holds so many bad memories for her. (I think she may have been one of the rapists victims).

One night in this "palace of horrors" I call home I had a police scanner on. At the time I was driving a wrecker and the scanner kind of gave you a heads up on what you were getting called for. Anyway I wake up and the scanner sounds real soft . I go to turn the volume up and the scanner isnt in its usual place. I start looking for it and I cant find it .... but I can hear it . I find it in my bedroom closet on the top shelf under a pile of blankets. Im the only one in the house that can reach that top shelf and I know for a fact I didnt put that scanner up there. I have no idea how it got up there and Ive never come up with anything to explain it away.

These statement are not halloween stories .... I have truly , honestly lived every one of them.
