You die. They come get your body. (he was in Baldwin County, about 250 miles from UAB) They poke and prod and turn you inside out for a while then cremate you and send you via the mail back to your family after a year or so. No charge and thank you very much. So Dad was cremated.

I went through a year of some of the medical school classes I needed after i took my MCAT and knew I was secured a spot. I had a cadaver which was my subject for the year. All I can say is that I doubt I would know 1/10th of what I learned that year without that person's sacrifice. And my professor was very strict about how to act and treat the cadavers. It was worth your weight in gold not to cross her. We even did a final prayer service the last day of class after prepping the bodies to go for cremation. Very sobering thing. It is what i will do.
