My father was cremated as per his wishes. We took him out to the cemetery and dug down until we hit the foot of my sisters vault. Put the small plastic container he was in, in a tin popcorn can and laid him to rest so he/we thought.
The next summer when I was home on leave. We went back down to the cemetery and dug him up. So we could his set his VA foot stone. Also took him out of the tin can and put him in a plastic bucket.
When mom died four years later. We went back down to the cemetery and dug him and the foot stone up so he could be buried with mom.
He now lays at her feet. Regrettably with no easy way for us to get dig him up again. Or I just might so I could take him fishing again. LOL.
I could almost hear him laughing at us each time we dug him up.
