Upon further inspection, the pump seems to be leaking from the O-Ring. I will probably rehab this one and hopefully I didn't wreck it on the ride home (whereby I ran the pump nearly dry).

I've seen a few of those pumps where the tack-welded return pipe at the housing was broken loose and caused a big leak. I have two spare original '69 pumps, if you need one let me know.
