Being in close proximity to other vehicles while driving exactly or under the speed limit is FAR more dangerous than proper lane usage and passing, even at considerably over the limit. I've been sideswiped 3 times in the last 20 years while involuntarily stuck in "parade mode" ( behind morons driving exactly the same speed next to each other in every lane). I've never had an accident when going well above the speed limit, mainly because it vastly reduces exposure to other vehicles.
The left lane is for passing. (period) If you're not passing, regardless of your speed, then move right. It really is a simple rule, designed to facilitate the flow of traffic.
Oh, and I feel your pain David H! THEY'RE BAAAAAACK! In spite of the awesome weather, I am about to put the GTO away for a few months after driving around today. Holy crap are there some bad drivers out there and NONE of them are speeding.......

i guess you must have a special license that makes you a safer driver if you speed.
in reference to your ''parade '' driving ,,that is THE SAFEST FORM OF DRIVING.

parade hits are very light since all are going the same speed VS.
some nut speeding 30 over and plowing into a car
and yes slower moving cars pose the same danger as speeders
