This is XB-70 air vehicle #2 right before it crashed. The flames is the little F104 that collided with it. 2 died 1966
The XB70 was originally to replace the B52 and flew at 3 times the speed of sound. Built by North American Aviation in Ca. This plane had twin tails, one is already broken off from the collision. This was supposed to be a photo opp. There is also shown a F4 and a pair of T38s.
One XB 70 remains at Dayton Air Force museum.
