I was looking through more pictures, and found one where the cam is being degreed and the snout of the cam is protruding from the cam gear.
My builder does not specialize in Pontiac motors, but he has been doing this for 20+ years and is extremely meticulous. He has done several Pontiac motors before with none coming back to him as well.
