I have a 2010 Equinox with the 2.4L 4-cyl, FWD with about 42k miles. The engine started idling a little rough a few weeks ago and it seemed a little down on power. The check engine light came on then went off after 3 restarts. Then a few days later the Service Stabilitrak warning came on. I took it to the local dealer who had it a day and a half before he came back with the diagnosis of the high pressure fuel pump failure. This is the 2000 psi pump for the direct injection, not the in tank low pressure pump. This is NOT covered under the 100k powertrain warranty. The replacement cost: $623. They have had the vehicle since 2/14 and are still waiting on the back-ordered pump. The good news is the Equinox is a company lease vehicle so I am not out any money. The bad news is my employer is for both the repair and the rental car I've had for a week so far. Even this would not be a big deal except my employer operates probably several hundred of these vehicles. At least 5 others in my area are experiencing the same issues plus dieseling after ignition off (unburned excess fuel lighting off in the cylinders.) We all took delivery around Jan-Feb 2010 and have 39K-50K miles on the vehicles. Our fleet manager has contacted GM as this could cost our company $1 million or more. So far I have not found any TSB for this issue but I would think there would be. Any GM techs have any info on this issue? I would definitely like to get to the bottom of this as my employer's bottom line affects my pay too.

PS. I do not know the code numbers that were set but the service writer said multiple engine misfires and lean condition codes were set.
