Private sector here:
Took 10% cut in 2009 for 6 months.
Got raise in 2010 that will make up the diff.
Got a bonus in 2010 that helped.
Wife is .gov--makes low salary with degree (her choice).
Got no raise in the past 3 yrs.
Got a one time bonus in 2 of the 3 yrs.
Increase in our medical coverage was more than each bonus.
PS End unions for government workers. I don't like having to face going to jail because I won't give someone a raise. If I don't surrender my income taxes to do so, I get arrested by men with guns. Shame on you people. I've never lobbied for me girl to get a raise and she isn't union. She can go to the private sector if she wants more money.
