Honestly the bracket that posted the link to would be much easier. It's what I copied mine after and would probably be a lot quicker. I just welded mine up because I had the stuff around and was being...uh...cheap. I'm not a welder so it was also a good excuse to practice.

As for the wiring, it was easy. Since the alternator is internally regulated, you don't use the firewall mounted regulator at all. I opted for the three wire alternator, just because of the MadElectrical sites suggestion. Probably doesn't make a LOT of difference, but it's not that hard.
