A strap runs from the bottom corner of the gauge cluster to the wiper switch. Also if you have a clack, a strap should connect it to the gauge pod. This is very typical. Honestly I usually run a wire from the housing to the steering column to ensure a complete ground. If you painted the back of your housing when you did the restoration, this could be the main cause of your problem. I always had my housing plated to ensure this problem didn't happen. Also make sure all your ground straps are on your engine and are tight
